Mandela mural to mark centenary of statesman's birth

South African leader Nelson Mandela has been honoured by a mural in the eastern city of Liege.  The fresco by Novadead, a member of the Liège-based Spray Can Arts collective, was unveiled to mark the centenary of the birth of South Africa's first black president.

The mural stands on the place de l'Yser in the Outremeuse district of Liège.  Novadead earlier produced an interesting mural that has found a place opposite the European Parliament in Brussels.

It's murals galore in Liège at the minute because on the very same square as the Mandela mural there is now also a fresco of the American black leader Martin Luther King by Ecto, another member of the Liège collective.
