Belgian holidaymaker dies through Greek forest fire

One Belgian is among the countless victims of the Greek forest fires.  A 63-year-old man from Aalst has now been confirmed dead after first going missing.

The Belgian was staying at a hotel that had to be evacuated.  32 tourists were to be evacuated in boats via the beach, but the Belgian was not among those evacuated.  The suspicion is he drowned. The man's son is in hospital suffering from shock.

Five Belgian expats living near the town of Mati outside Athens have not yet been contacted.

Foreign minister Reynders urges holidaymakers to follow the instructions of local emergency services.
