Anderlecht start the new season on a high

Sporting Anderlecht and KV Oostende both won their first games of the new season on Saturday evening. The match between Sint-Truiden and newly-promoted Cercle Brugge and the match between Zulte Waregem and Waasland-Beveren both ended in draws.

Sporting Anderlecht got off to a flying start to the new season with a 4-1 win away at KV Kortrijk. All 4 of Anderlecht’s goals came from new signing’s. Ivan Santini scored a hat trick against his former club with goals on 3, 48 and 73 minutes with Nany Dimata scoring on 73 minutes. KV Kortrijk scored through Ognjen Vranješ on 85 minutes. However, this was too little, too late and the game ended 4-1 in the visitor’s favour.

KVO victorious against Mouscron

KVO Oostende enjoyed a 2-1 home win against Excel Mouscron. KVO had gone one down in the first half after Sambu scored from Mouscron on 23 minutes. However, this was put right in the second half with Capon scoring on 46 minutes. Matos made it 2-1 to KV Oostende 15 minutes from time.

Excel Mouscron went down to 10 men on 67 minutes when Godeau was sent off for his second bookable offence. The visitors ended the game with 9 men when Diedhiou was given a red card in the 5th minute of stoppage time.

Late goals salvage a point for Waasland-Beveren

Zulte Waregem led their home game against Waasland-Beveren for 81 minutes, but still failed to take all three points thanks to two late goals from the visitors.

Zulte Waregem opened the scoring on 4 minutes through Hicham Faik. Hamdi Harbaoui made it 2-0 to the home side on 64 minutes. However, an 85th minute goal from Aleksandar Boljevic and a goal from Joachim Van Damme in the 3rd minute on injury time saw Waasland-Beveren leave West Flanders with a point.

The match between Sint-Truiden and newly-promoted Cercle Brugge ended in a goalless draw.
