Second half hat trick for Santini
Sporting Anderlecht continue to impress in what was their first home game of the season, they beat the former club of their current chairman Marc Coucke KV Oostende by 5 gaols to 2. All 7 goals fell in the second half. Ivan Santini opened the scoring for Anderlecht a minute into the second half.
Nany Dimata made it 2-0 6 minutes later. KVO weren’t going to go down without a fight though and Sindrit pulled one back on 58 minutes. Anderlecht were awarded a penalty after Musona was brought down inside the box.
Santini converted the spot kick and it was 3-1 on 83 minutes. The Croat completed his hat trick 3 minutes later and it was 4-1 to Anderlecht. Dimata made it 5-1 on 89 minutes. Goran Milovic’s goal for KV Oostende in the second minute of injury time was always going to be too little, too late and the match ended 5-2 to Sporting Anderlecht.
Club Brugge win despite being a man down
Despite playing all but the first 11 minutes of their game at Excel Mouscron with 10 men after Wesley was sent off, Club Brugge still managed to take all 3 points, albeit with the narrowest of victories. The Club Brugge substitute Dion Cools score the only goal of the game to seal victory for the League Champions.
Crossbar and Sint-Truiden keeper deny KRC Genk
Despite creating more than enough chances, KRC Genk were unable to clinch victory in the Limburg Derby at home against Sint-Truiden. They hit the bar no fewer than 4 times, the Sint-Truiden keeper Kenny Steppe made some excellent saves, and Genk also wasted some chances in front of goal. KRC Genk’s only goal of the game came on 68 minutes through Ruslan Milinovskiy. However their joy was short-lived as Sint-Truiden equalized three minutes later though Wataru Endo.
