British Legion remembers in Ieper

A very special remembrance ceremony took place in the West Flemish town of Ieper on Wednesday. The event was organised by Royal British Legion, an organisation that offers support to British veterans and their families. The Royal British Legion was remembering the "The Great Pilgrimage", a pilgrimage that took place 90 years ago in August 1928. Then 11,000 participants visited the town that by then had been partially rebuilt and the nearby First World War battlefields in which so many British servicemen lost their lives.
