Seven injured in police car crash in Brussels

A federal police vehicle has collided with another car in the centre of Brussels: seven people got injured, but nobody is in a life-threatening condition.

The accident happened around 6PM on Friday, at the corner of the Wetstraat and the Koningstraat, near the Warandepark and the Royal Palace. The exact circumstances remain unclear, but it is said the police officers were on their way to the Summer Festival to assist colleagues.

Two people inside the police car had to be liberated from their vehicle by members of the fire services. However, nobody sustained life-threatening injuries.

Tram services of lines 92 and 93 were disrupted as a result.
