Restaurant worker robbed and kidnapped

An employee of a restaurant in the Brussels municipality of Jette was robbed in broad daylight before being kidnapped by his assailants. He was later released around 5 kilometres away in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek. The incident started at around 1:30pm at the Chalet van Laarbeek restaurant that is set in normally tranquil Laarbeekbos area of Jette.  The victim was slightly injured and the police are now trying to track down his assailants.      

The restaurant worker was taking away the restaurant’s takings when he was attack by two men, at least one of whom was armed. They forced him to get into his car and to give them the keys.

They drove him to Delaunoystraat in Sint-Jans-Molenbeek where he was pushed out of the car. Once out of the car he was able to alert the police. He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
