The Croats won 0-2 in Brussels on Thursday evening. Izet Hajrovic opened the scoring for Dynamo on 20 minutes from the penalty spot, with Amer Gojak putting the visitors 2 goals up on 69 minutes. Anderlecht’s Ognjen Vranješ was sent off on 47 minutes.
Dynamo Zagreb’s Theopile Catherine was sent off in the first minute of injury time. Both players were sent off after having received a second yellow card. Dynamo Zagreb head Group D with 6 points from 2 games Anderlecht are bottom with no points.
Diasappointment for KRC Genk
KRC Genk return from Norway with their feet very much on the group after having lost 3-1 against Sarpsborg 08. What’s more one of the players instrumental in the Club’s current success Leandro Trossard injured his shoulder in a fall during the game.
Patrick Mortenssen open the scoring for Sarpsborg 08 on 7 minutes. The first half ended 1-0 to the Norwegians. Leandro Trossard equalised for Genk on 50 minutes.
However, any hopes of a taking a point were soon dashed when Kristoffer Zachariassen made it 2-1 to Sarpsborg on 55 minutes. It was game over when Patrick Mortensen made it 3-1 nine minutes later. Sapsborg 08 top Group I on goal difference with 3 points from 2 games. KRC Genk are second, also with 3 points.
Standard reward fans with a victory
Standard de Liège have taken their first three points of their 2018-2019 Champions League campaign.
The club that won the Belgian Cup and came second in the league last season beat the Turkish side Akhisar Belediyespor. Standard’s goals came from Emond (photo below) on 17 minutes and Djenepo on 39 minutes.
The Turks scored on 32 minutes through Onur Ayik. Belediyespor’s Yumlu was sent off on 84 minutes for his second bookable office of the game. Standard are 3rd in Group J with 3 points from 2 games. Belediyespor are 4th with 0 points.
