Wins for Antwerp, Kortrijk and Sint-Truiden

Four of the weekend’s eight First Division games were played on Saturday evening. There were wins for Royal Football Club Antwerp, KV Kortrijk and Sint-Truiden. The final game of the evening between Waasland-Beveren and KV Oostende ended in a 1-1 draw.

Both the goals were scored in the second half. KV Oostende took the lead on 51 minutes through Matos. Massop equalized for Waasland-Beveren on 79 minutes. The result leaves KV Oostende 8th with 14 points from 10 games. Waasland-Beveren have 9 points and are 13th.

Antwerp turn things around to beat KAS Eupen

Despite having gone behind after a Mamadou Fall goal on 38 minutes, Royal Football Club Antwerp returned with 3 points from their trip to Royal Football Club Antwerp. Goal from Refaelov on 69 minutes and Ivo on 74 minutes were enough to give the Great Old victory. The result sees RFC Antwerp move up to 3rd place with 19 points from 10 games. KAS Eupen is 12th with 10 points.

Second half goals seal it for KV Kortrijk

KV Kortrijk came back from being a goal down to claim all three points in their match against Sporting Lokeren. A Marko Miric goal on 14 minutes made for a half-time score of 1-0 in Sporting Lokeren’s favour. However the tide turned in the second half with goals from D’Haene on 58 minutes, Avenatti on 73 minutes and Ouali in the 3rd minute of injury time made for a full time score of 3-1 in KV Kortrijk’s favour.

Excel Mouscron remain bottom after defeat at Sint-Truiden

It was another bad night for Excel Mouscron. Despite the first half of their game away at Sint-Truiden having ended 1-1 after a Jordan Botaka penalty for Sint-Truiden on 27 minutes and Bruno Godeau’s goal on 43 minutes, Mouscron were beaten 3-1 by the Canaries. Excel Mouscron finished the game with just 9 men after Boya was sent off on 43 minutes and Dusenne was sent off on 9 minutes. Both players were sent off for their second booking of the game.  Yohan Boli scored for Sint-Truiden on 84 minutes with Kamada making it 3-1 from the penalty spot in the second minute of injury time. Sint-Truiden are now 5th with 17 points from 10 games. Excel Mouscron are bottom with 4 points.
