Posts to prevent terrorist attacks at stations

Posts are being erected outside twenty railway stations across Belgium.  The posts are intended to prevent vehicles from driving into the building and the committing of a terrorist atrocity.

The posts, some of which can be lowered, replace concrete blocks.  The posts will appear outside stations in Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, Ostend, Denderleeuw and Charleroi-sud.  It will take six months to replace the concrete blocks by 500 posts.  1.6 million euros has been set aside for the operation.
