Jail for Abdeslam's brother

Mohammed Abdeslam, the brother of Salah, the sole surviving suspect from the Paris attacks in 2015, has been sentenced to 30 months in jail and fined 16,000 euros for his involvement in a hold up on a money transport.

Together with two accomplices he got away with 70,000 euros.  The attack happened in January of this year when employees from the municipality of Molenbeek, where Mohamed had worked, wanted to transfer cash to a bank.   Once arrested Mohamed Abdeslam immediately admitted his involvement claiming one of the officials was also involved and had provided inside information.

The judge accepted this version of events jailing the official for two years.  As some of the money is still missing all those convicted have to repay part of the booty.
