Wins for Anderlecht, Sint-Truiden and Lokeren

The last three First Division games of the weekend were played on Sunday evening. In the 6pm kick-off Sporting Anderlecht took all three points from their trip to Waasland Beveren, winning 1-2. Later in the evening, Sint-Truiden moved up into the top 6 after a 2-1 home win against Zulte Waregem. KAS Eupen’s recent run of good results came to an end. The Pandas were beaten 2-0 away at Sporting Lokeren.

After taking just 1 point from their previous 2 games, Sporting Anderlecht desperately needed a good result on Sunday evening.

Anderlecht took the lead on 12 minutes though a Dimata penalty. However, it wasn’t until Andrien Trebel put them 2-0 up that they started to look certain of victory. Trebel’s goal came at a stage in the match that Anderlecht were down to 10 men after Milic was sent off for his second bookable offence on 73 minutes. Waasland Beveren pullen one back the 3rd minute of stoppage time through Senneh.

The result leaves Sporting Anderlecht 4th with 27 points from 14 games. Waasland Beveren are 13th with 11 points.

Onwards and upwards for Sint-Truiden

Zulte Waregem through away a one goal advantage to lose 2-1 away at Sint-Truiden. Bongonda put Zulte Waregem a goal up on 29 minutes. However, second half goals from Kamanda on 61 minutes and Acolatse on 85 minutes made for a final score of 2-1 in Sint-Truiden’s favour. The result sees Sint-Truiden mve up to 6th place with 21 points from 14 games. Zulte Waregem remain bottom with 9 points.

Flying starts gives Lokeren victory

KAS Eupen failed to make it three wins in a row. The Pandas were beaten 2-0 by Sporting Lokeren. Both Lokeren’s goals came early in the first half. Marecek put the home side 1-0 up on 10 minutes. Miric made it 2-0 a minute later. The result sees Sporting Lokeren move up to 14th place with 10 points from 14 games. KAS Eupen are 10th with 16 points.
