Dozens of barrels containing suspected drug waste dumped in Limburg woodland

Dozens of barrels have been found dumped on a forest track in the Limburg municipality of Houthalen-Helchteren. The contents of the barrels is believed to be chemical waste from the production of synthetic drugs.

 

The illicit dump was found on De Ramp, a woodland path in Houthalen-Helchteren. Several dozen blue and black barrels were dumped. An investigation has been launched and it is believed that the barrels contain waste products from the production of synthetic drugs. Both the police and the fire service have gone to the scene.      

It isn’t the first the first time that drugs waste has been dumped in Limburg. Of the 43 cases of waste products from the production of drugs being dumped this year, 29 were in Limburg. Anyone that spots what the suspect might be a drugs waste dump case best contact the police.
