Flemish cash for UN Emergency Aid Fund

This year the Flemish Government will once again give 600,000 euro to the UN’s Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF). The news that Flanders is to maintain its commitment to CERF was announced by the Flemish Prime Minister Geert Bourgeois. CERF offers humanitarian aid the world over.

In 2016 the Flemish Government doubled its annual contribution to CERF from 300,000 to 600,000 euro/annum. In a press statement released on Monday, Mr Bourgeois stressed the fact that 133.8 million people worldwide are urgently in need of humanitarian aid.
