BNP Paribas Fortis bank hit by computer problems

Customers of the bank BNP Paribas Fortis may well find it difficult or even impossible to access banking services this afternoon after technical issues arose during scheduled maintenance of the bank’s computer system. The issues have meant that all the bank’s servers are having to be re-started individually, a task that will take all afternoon.  

There are issues with the bank’s cash and self-bank machines as well as at the cashier’s counter and for those using the bank’s app.

Although the bank says that some of its servers are now working again, it won’t be until late in the afternoon that all its systems are operational again.
