Supermarket workers find 10kg of cocaine in box of bananas

Staff at a branch of the supermarket chain Colruyt had something of shock when they were unpacking a delivery of fruit on Friday morning. Among a consignment of organic bananas they found ten kilos of cocaine. They immediately called the police. A delivery lorry had brought supplies to the store in the Limburg town of Sint-Truiden of Thursday night.

Staff at the supermarket started unpacking the delivery just ahead of opening on Friday morning. It was then that they made a surprising discovery. Ten kilos of the class A drug cocaine was stashed between the bananas.
