"Up to 5cm of snow"

The Belgian Met Office has issued a warning about treacherous conditions on our roads.  Freezing fog and black ice can cause dangerous and slippery conditions this morning.  A Code Yellow warning has been issued valid till 11AM. Expect snow tonight!

This morning snow showers leave the country in the east.  It will be a mainly dry day with clear skies.  Cloud will move in from the south west this afternoon with sleet along the Franco-Belgian border by evening.  Highs not in excess of -2°C in the highlands of the Ardennes, +4°C in other parts.

Also tonight expect wintery conditions.  A bad weather front will cross the country from west to east bringing up to 5 centimetres of snow. Sleet will occur in the south west with overcast skies.  Snow is forecast first on the coast then moving inland in the late evening.  The snow front will cross the country slowly resulting in up to 5cm of snow and a treacherous rush hour on Wednesday.

Wednesday night too will be cold with lows of up to -5°C.  Take precautions for your car if you have one!
