Charlotte de Witte to become BBC Radio 1 house DJ

The Ghent (East Flanders) DJ Charlotte de Witte is to become one of BBC Radio 1’s new house DJ’s. Every Sunday night from March until April she will play a set that will be heard by listeners across the UK on FM, DAB and digital TV platforms and can be heard the world over online. 

Charlotte De Witte is one of eight new house DJs that BBC Radio 1 has chosen. The others are Paul Woolford, Marcel Dettmann, Honey Dijon, HAAi, Jayda G, Monki and Danny Byrd.

Charlotte de Witte is one of Belgium’s best-known techno DJs. She has had her own programme on the VRT’s music station Studio Brussel. She also performs at many big music festivals such as I Love Techno, Tomorrowland, Pukkelpop and Laundry Day. Next month she will appear at Coachella Festival in California.   

On Friday it was announced that a second KNTXT Party will be held at Antwerp’s Sportpaleis on 16 November. There Charlotte de Witte will perform with some of her favourite DJs.
