Flemings take gold at World Cheerleading Championships in Orlando

A team of cheerleaders from the Cheerleader Academy in Kappellen, near Antwerp has taken gold at the cheerleading World Championships in Orlando, Florida. The five-person team won first prize in the Group Stunt Category with a spectacular and highly acrobatic display.

It was the first time that the group from Kappellen had taken part in the World Championships. Not unsurprising the World Championships are held each year in home of cheerleading, the United States.

On their arrival back in Belgium the delighted team members told VRT News that “A place in the top 3 would have been great, but the first place is of course even greater”.
