Car burns out after yet another explosion in Antwerp
There was yet another explosion in Antwerp on Monday night. In the latest in a series of incidents in the city an explosion was heard in the Biekorfstraat near to Park Spoor Noord at around 3.30am on Tuesday morning. One car caught fire as a result of the blast.
Four other vehicles and the front of a house were slightly damaged. The police have cordoned off the street while an investigation is carried out.
It is still unclear as to what kind of explosives were used in the blast. The bomb disposal service DOVO attended the scene. The burned out car has been towed away.
Two weeks ago on 6 March a car was burned out on the same street. In the early hours of Monday morning 5 cars were burned out when two hand grenades exploded near to Park Spoor Noord.
