Three suspects detained in connection with Ghent Afghan’s death

A 36-year-old Afghan man was found dead at a house in the Baudelostraat in the East Flemish city of Ghent on Saturday afternoon. It soon became clear to police that the man’s death was suspicious. Three man have since between detained. However, blood found on the pavement nearby suggest that a fourth suspect was also involved. He is still at large.   

Initial indications point to a suspicious and above all violent death and an Examining Magistrate has been appointed to lead the investigation. The Federal Judicial Police, the forensic lab and a police surgeon attended the scene.   

The three suspects were all-in the house when the man died. The extent of their involvement is still unclear.   

The police are now doing all they can to trace the fourth suspect.
