The port of Antwerp is known to serve as a hub in international drug trafficking. Mr Dhillon is keen to stress the port's importance: "Last year over 50 tons of cocaine were intercepted in the port, but nearly the same amount was stopped in South America on its way to Antwerp."
"We must co-operate with police services in Belgium. The South American gangs that traffic to Europe are the same gangs that smuggle drugs to the US. They ignore all borders. We must co-operate with Belgium to stop this worldwide.
