"Hello Summer" to replace Brussels Beach next summer at four pop-up locations

Works at the Beco- and Akenkaai have forced organisers of the traditional Brussels Beach event to look for an alternative, and they found it: "Hello Summer" will stage four different festivals at different locations throughout the summer. It will boast sports, music, dance, interactive workshops and family events.

There will not be an 18th edition of the Brussels Beach festival this year. Renovation works at the Kanal-Centre Pompidou Museum have forced organisers to find a different site, but finding a location which was as big as the old one, and which would not create practical issues, turned out to be impossible. At the same time, police will have a lot of work with the "Grand Départ" of the Tour de France in the capital, early July.

"Hello Summer" will fill the gap left by Brussels Beach. It will boast four different events:

  • 25 July to 4 August: in the administrative district near the Congreskolom
  • 8 to 11 August: in the Ambiorix Square (at the edge of the European district)
  • 15 to 18 August: Peter Benoît Square (Neder-over-Heembeek)
  • 22 to 25 August: Leopoldsquare (Laken)
