1.5 million Belgians have already taken the “voting test”

In the month since its launch 1.5 million Belgian have taken part in an online questionnaire designed to show voters which party or parties is most in line with their views on a host of issues relevant to the forthcoming regional, federal and local elections. The so-called “voting test” was launched jointly by the VRT, the Flemish daily ‘De Standaard’, the Francophone daily ‘Le Soir’ and the Francophone public broadcaster RTBF. 

With still almost 4 weeks to go before 26 May, 1.2 million Flemings have taken the test either on the VRT NWS website or on the website of ‘De Standaard’. Meanwhile, just over 300,000 Francophones have done the same on the websites of RTBF and ‘Le Soir’.           

The “voting test” was launched on Wednesday 3 April. Since then those that wish to can compare their views with those of the political parties standing in the regional, federal and European elections on 26 May.

The “voting test” was put together by the political science departments of the Universities of Antwerp and Louvain-la-Neuve.
