The Belgian violinist Syvia Huang has earned a place among the 24 semi-finalists at the Queen Elizabeth Competition for Violin. The 25-year-old from Hainaut Province is the only Belgian competing. On Saturday evening she played a repertoire that included a sonnet for violin and piano by Beethoven. Sylvia Huang currently play first violin as a concert violinist with the orchestra of the Royal Concert Building in Amsterdam. She will play her semi-final repertoire at the Queen Elizabeth Competition on Monday.
