De Lijn buses stopping at North Station!!!

Buses of the Flemish local transport company De Lijn are once again stopping at the North Station in the Belgian and Flemish capital.  Drivers had been diverting their vehicles in recent weeks due to security and health worries blamed on migrants seeking shelter at the station.

Last Friday the area where the buses stop was nicely scrubbed, but there are worries that no definitive solution has been found for the hygiene and security issues at the North.

Migrants sleeping rough at the North Station were taken to a local reception centre last Thursday to allow the clean-up to go ahead.

De Lijn's Tom Vander Vreken told VRT: "A lot of work has been shifted and the place has been made spic and span.  Passengers should be able to catch their trusted bus.  Temporary stops at Rogier and on the Noordplein disappear."
