Antwerp come back from two goals behind to earn a place in Europe

Royal Antwerp FC made good a two-goal deficit in the play-off match against Sporting Charleroi for a place in the preliminary round of next season’s Europa League. The Play-off II winners Charleroi got off to a flying start with a goal from Viktor Osimhen after just a minute of play. 

The zebras went two-up on 13 minutes with a Dorien Dessoleil goal. Dieumerci Mbokani pulled one back for Antwerp 3 minutes later. A Refaelov penalty on 22 minutes put the Great Old level. Dieumerci Mbokani score his second and Antwerp’s third goal of the afternoon on 67 minutes.

The match ended 3-2 in  Antwerp’s favour. This means that the team that finished 4th in Play-off I has gained a place in Europe for the first time in a quarter of a century.
