Drunken judge involved in hit and run

The General Prosecutor’s Office has opened an investigation after an Antwerp judge was involved in a hit and run accident. The female judge was involved in two collisions in the centre of Antwerp but carried on driving. The news that the judge is the subject of an investigation appears in Saturday’s edition of the daily ‘Gazet van Antwerp’. 

The accidents happened in the Zuid area of Antwerp city centre. The woman first drove into a skip before colliding with some parked cars. No one was injured. However, there was some material damage.

The women was stopped by police on the Antwerp orbital motorway. She was breathalysed and found to be over the limit. Her driving licence was confiscated. The judge is now the subject of an investigation by the General Prosecutors’ Office.
