The judicial authorities in Hasselt (Limburg) are examining whether the three have committed fraud when they set up the festival.
Vestiville, a hip-hop festival in Lommel, was to have its first edition this weekend, but was cancelled at the eleventh hour as security measures were not up to standards. 35,000 music fans were left empty-handed.
Fans had been tempted by a strong list of headliners, paying 80 euros for a day ticket, or over 200 euros for a weekend package deal, not to mention the money they paid to get there.
The judicial authorities suspect that organisers committed fraud - there are talks of false invoices. Public prosecutors are afraid that if the suspects are no longer kept behind bars, they may leave Belgium, contact one another to make sure they make the same statements, or destroy evidence.
