Long queues at Eurostar terminal in Brussels South
Eurostar passengers in Brussels South station had to be patient this morning and this afternoon. Several trains were delayed due to maintenance works. Angry passengers shared their anger and frustration on Twitter.
There were long queues at the Eurostar desk. The 8.52 train this morning could only leave around 1 PM, and this afternoon services were still delayed with about one hour.
Spokeswoman Stefanie Van Mierlo said that maintenance works at two trains took longer than expected. As a result, the first two trains had "major delays". These only applied to trains departing from Brussels, but delays at other stations are also possible as a result. Frustrated passengers vented out their anger on Twitter. Eurostar said things would get back to normal in the late afternoon.
