The accident happened around 4:45 this morning, the Brussels police spokesman Olivier Slosse confirmed, near the Rogier Square. An investigation has been started to identify the driver that committed the hit-and-run. Detectives think it will be possible to find him using CCTV footage. They will leave no stone unturned to track down the person.
A mobility expert went to the site to try and determine how the accident could have happened. According to the first, non-official reports, the accident may be caused by high speed. There have been more accidents involving pedestrians in recent weeks and months in Brussels.
