Body found near to Dockx Shopping Centre

The Brussels Judicial Authorities report that a dead body has been near to the Dockx Shopping Centre in Brussels. The gruesome discovery was made on Monday evening. Willemien Baert of the Brussels Judicial Authorities told the Brussels regional news platform Bruzz that “An Examining Magistrate was sent to the scene along with a police surgeon any detectives from the technical division of the Federal Police”.   A manslaughter investigation has been opened concerning the man’s death.

The body was found at around 6pm on Monday evening. The Judicial Authorities’ Denis Goeman told Bruzz that “The body was lying under a bridge”.

“A police surgeon and the Federal Police are at the scene to investigate. Initial indications show that the body was probably moved and that one or more people were involved in the man’s death”.

The dead man’s identity is still a mystery.

“A number of avenues are being explored, but no identification has yet taken place”.  

The Judicial Authorities also say that the man had been dead for at least a few hours before he was found.  

An autopsy will be held to confirm the precise cause of death.
