Flemish theatre company wins prize at Edinburgh Fringe

The Flemish theatre company Ontroerend Goed has won a prize at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. The company’s performance of ‘Are we not drawn to a new erA’ has taken the Fringe First Award.   The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is the biggest theatre festival in the world. There are more than 3,500 theatrical performances at 300 locations across the Scottish capital.

One of the performances that stood out from the crowd was Ontroerend Goed’s “Are we not drawn to a new erA”.

During the festival the broadsheet The Scotsman gives out prizes to pieces that it feels are creative and innovative. This week Ontroerend Goed is among the winners.

The prize means that the play will gain more recognition and increases the chance that Ontroerend Goed will be able to embark on an international tour.

At the start of the festival the play received a number of positive reviews in the British media. The Financial Times tipped it as one of the five performances that theatre-lovers must go and see at the Edinburgh Fringe.

This is the 10th time that Onroerend Goed has taken part in the Edinburgh Fringe.
