Heatwave makes way for thundery showers

Thundery showers are set to sweep away the sweltering heat of the beginning of this week.  Already this morning thunder and lightning were people’s lot in parts of East Flanders and Flemish Brabant.

Localised thundery showers are also expected in Antwerp province later this morning. The most active thunderstorms are forecast for this afternoon and will move from south western to north eastern parts.  Highs will reach 30°C in the interior, 24°C on the Flemish coast.

More thundery showers are expected tonight with lows of 20° Celsius.

Thursday will be dry with protracted clear spells on the coast.  Highs between 20°C and 26°C inland. Friday will be dry with clear weather and highs of 23°C.

Saturday, though, will be another scorcher with highs of 29°C, while cooler weather will follow.
