26-year-old Belgian missing in Canada

A 26-year-old Belgian man has been missing for past 10 days in the Canadian province of British Columbia. Romain Quénéhen from Saint-Ghislain (Hainaut) last contacted his family on 26 August. Mr Quénéhen’s sister says that a hiker found some of his belongings in a forest in British Columbia on 28 August.

She has launched an appeal on Facebook in the hope of tracing her missing brother. The Belgian Foreign Ministry is aware of Mr Quénéhen’s disappearance.

In the appeal (see below) she asks if people know anyone that is currently in British Columbia or Alaska. "We haven’t had any news from my brother for days. The police have opened an investigation. Urgent appeal: is anyone in Alaska of British Columbia or do you know anyone that is? Or do you know of a webpage used by locals?”

During a search for Romain Quénéhen the Canadian police found a car that he had hired.
