Operation Market Garden remembered

75 years ago Allied Forces reached the Leopoldsburg Army Base in Limburg province. After having swept through (much of) Belgium relatively quickly, the Allies turned their attention to liberating our northern neighbours in The Netherlands. From Leopoldsburg Operation Market Garden was launched. The aim was to bring the war to an end before Christmas 1944. However, the operation ended in a bloodbath and the war continued until May 1945.
