Standard remain top, Anderlecht still in the doldrums

There was a full weekend of Belgian First Division fixtures. Standard de Liège remain top after a 1-4 win away at KV Oostende on Saturday evening. Also on Saturday, Club Brugge’s 0-2 win in the Bruges derby means that they remain second with a game in hand. Also with a game in hand AA Gent’s 3-0 win against KV Mechelen leaves them 4th.

RSCA Anderlecht’s disastrous start to the season continues. The 34-times champions lost at home against Royal Antwerp FC. Anderlecht are now 4th from bottom with just 5 points from 7 games.
