Another grenade attack in Antwerp

The Antwerp Judicial Authorities have confirmed that an explosion in the Berchem district of the city at the weekend was caused by a grenade.

The explosion took place on Saturday afternoon. Several cars and the front door of a house on the Deken de Winterstraat were damaged in the blast. No one was injured in the explosion.

The Judicial Authorities have now confirmed that the explosion was caused by a hand grenade. However, it is still unclear whether it is linked to the series of hand grenade attacks in other areas of the city earlier this year. It is also not clear whether the explosion is linked to a dispute between drug gangs.
