Pigs close Belgian motorway
The Knokke - Antwerp motorway E34 has had to be closed at Moerbeke (East Flanders) for drivers bound for the northern port city after some 100 pigs ended up on the road surface.
A lorry transporting the poor animals was involved in an accident and overturned. Some 100 pigs were given free roam of the motorway posing a significant threat to safety. Drivers bound for Knokke too should take extra care and be on the look-out for crossing animals.
