Antwerp Zoo unrest as 24 people could be made redundant

The management of the Antwerp Zoo has announced its intention to cut 24 jobs at the sites in Antwerp and Planckendael. About 70 staff members staged a protest action to support their colleagues, demanding that social talks be held before a final decision is taken. Protesters were wearing a mourning band. The management is expected to make a decision on Monday, but claims the jobs cuts are a result of the corona crisis.
