Christmas tree arrives on Brussels market

The traditional Christmas tree that adorns Brussels’ historic market square arrived in the Belgian and Flemish capital overnight.  The tree was felled in the High Fens on Wednesday and was taken to Brussels as part of an exceptional convoy.

The tree was cut in Robertville (Liege).  It is a Nordmann fir measuring 18 metres.  For 27 years it stood in a hotel garden where it served as the establishment’s Christmas tree.  Now it has moved on to greater things.
