Belgium’s Merlier wins Tour de France stage

Belgium’s Tim Merlier (Alpecin-Fenix) has won a first stage in the Tour de France.  This is Merlier’s first Tour de France and in the hectic final moments of a stage characterised by several falls he sprinted to victory.  “I’m living the dream” he told reporters.  “After winning in the Giro it’s happening again in the greatest race in the world.”
