Club Brugge nets record for defender in Belgian competition

Odilon Kossounou is leaving Club Brugge for Bayer Leverkusen of Germany.  Kossounou is twenty and has played for Club Brugge for two seasons now.  In both seasons the West Flemish club became Belgian champions.

Leverkusen is sixth in the German Bundesliga and is reportedly paying just a little under 30 million euros for the Ivorian defender.  It’s the first time such an amount has been forked out for a defender from a Belgian club.
