Christmas tree arrives on Brussels' market square

Early this morning this year’s Christmas tree was set up on Brussels' historic market square.  In coming days, a nativity - a Christian tradition - will be constructed next to the tree and the tree itself will be decorated.

Decorations include an illuminated red garland measuring over one kilometre.

Usually the tree on Brussels' market square comes from the Ardennes, but this year the tree originated in a garden in Dilbeek (Flemish Brabant).
