Energy crisis: Flanders helps out struggling sports clubs

The Flemish government is providing extra support to sports clubs facing a steep rise in their energy costs.  The Flemish sports federation says around half of all sports clubs are in financial difficulty.  So far one in five have bumped up membership fees.

The government is now releasing 3 million euros to help out.  A further 50 million euros becomes available under the form of loans that can be used to make energy-saving investments.
