Checks on lorries across the country

Scores of infringements were registered yesterday when police and inspection services carried out checks on lorries and their drivers across Belgium. In all 129 trucks were stopped.  In twelve cases drivers were not in compliance with obligatory weekly rest times.  In nine cases there were issues with the tachometer that registers drive and rest times.  In all fines worth 37,000 euros were issued against transport companies.
